Who We Are

About Us

Founded in 2017, the Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. (B.O.B); hosted the inaugural JUNETEENTH AUGUSTA FESTIVAL, where we began to spread the message of self-knowledge, history, and love for one another. As a unique 501(c)3 non-profit, we promote and ensure economic growth, community outreach, and mentorship throughout the Augusta/CSRA community and annually host the Juneteenth Augusta celebration.

The members of the B.O.B. are well-respected anchors within the community. Through a collective effort, the B.O.B. aspires to make available and distribute resources within the CSRA to remove factors that limit opportunities and positive alternatives available to the community. By providing information, access, and actions that promote economic stability and mobility to underserved members of the CSRA, the B.O.B. strives to play a vital role in creating a healthier community.

Our Vision

To bridge the gap between the community and its leadership.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote and ensure economic growth, community outreach, and mentorship within the Augusta/CSRA community.

Our Values

Help Us, Help The Community

What We Do

Through our Break Bread Project, we are able to feed more than 800 of the less fortunate people throughout the city of Augusta each year.  We also partner with the Ronald McDonald House to provide nutritious meals to families that live there while being forced to be from away from home because their child is critically ill and being cared for at the neighboring Children’s Hospital of Georgia. The average number of families fed is approximately 125 families per year.

What We Do

Through our Good Neighbor Initiative, we have been able to collect and remove over 1,500 pounds of trash from over 6.2 square miles of roads in Augusta, GA this year (2,300 lbs., 9.6 sq. mi in 2023).  We have also assisted over 23 elderly or disabled people with lawn care and/or minor home repairs totaling over $5800 this year.

What We Do

Through our Big Brother Initiative, the BOB members have individually been able to make over 55 visits to select schools throughout the Richmond & Burke County School Systems since the beginning of the 2024 school year (118 school visits in 2023). As individuals, we have collectively mentored over 67 school aged boys to date.  We are also partners with the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Project C Programs coming in 2025.

Juneteenth Augusta

Since 2017, the Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. has tirelessly worked to bring awareness about Juneteenth and has hosted the annual JUNETEENTH AUGUSTA FESTIVAL. Our goal, consistently, has been to spread the message of self-knowledge, history, and love for one another. With some additional assistance in the last few years from city officials, the Greater Augusta Black Chamber, and other local organizations, our annual festival has grown even more and comes complete with soulful-conscious speakers, health and wellness checks, phenomenal musical acts, extravagant exhibits, entertainment for kids, and vendors from all across the CSRA.

Economic Growth

The Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. seeks to strengthen the communities’ self-knowledge and capabilities to communicate and act consciously; in all aspects of the business. Through symposiums, workshops, and community forums, we will promote the economic stability and advancement of the African-American community while extending the time frame the dollar remains within our community. In itself, the participation is about choosing a more dynamic future and realizing the potential our undervalued talent benefits the Augusta/CSRA community.

Mentoring

The Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. hopes to play a critical role in helping young African-Americans in the CSRA discover their potential and aid in advancement, directly making the CSRA a more resilient community. As an integral part of what is and what must change in the community, its’ our job to highlight a complete account of African-American male successes that often get overlooked. We welcome any opportunity to give back in a way that elevates the life of young adults so that they can achieve better outcomes and pay it forward to the next generation as we do.

Health & Wellness

The Band of Brothers Augusta, Inc. realizes that the limitations of our community are due to the choices and resources available to residents who live in poverty-stricken areas with violence, dilapidated housing, and very few opportunities to purchase healthy foods. Our organization will work closely with leaders and stakeholders in business, government, health care, and other organizations to examine issues, raise awareness, and develop programs that will help improve the overall health and wellness of the African-Americans in the CSRA.
